I'd like to see an ASCOM controllable smart Canon lens mount. One that can talk to autofocus Canon lenses to use their internal motors to focus rather than focusing manually or with a belt drive system.
The ZWO 1600, 071 and soon 094 cameras would all match perfectly to Canon lenses if they had a good computer controlled focus mechanism.
Redrock Micro makes a Canon lens controller for use with 4/3 cameras: https://shop.redrockmicro.com/product/livelens-mft-active-lens-mount/
Birger Engineering makes a very expensive ($1k USD) adapter that can be ASCOM controlled (no direct link, but it's used on the 48-Canon-lens Dragonfly telescope).
I started working on an Arduino based Canon lens controller using reverse-engineered EF-lens protocol that I found online, but I would like to see a ready-made version.
(edit) Found this one page that shows a bit of what can be done, although for a different purpose: http://howiem.com/wordpress/index.php/2016/07/07/motion-control-canon-ef-lens-hacking/
