Using 120mm (without the ST4 port) as guider

Hello,

I have a 120mm without the ST4 port and a 178mm-cool.

Is it possible I can use 120mm as a guiding camera while using 178mm-cool's ST4 port for communicating to the telescope?

The reason I am asking this is that I have a ST4-USB device which I cannot get to work anymore. I used to be able to select the ZWO USBST4 from Generic ASCOM device list but after installing the latest driver I am getting an error about not finding a dll file.

What mount do you have ? You have computer control with your mount ?

You can use ASCOM & pulse guide to guide your mount.

I have the following gear:

- Celestron AVX mount with GoTo

- ZWO ASI120mm (no ST4 port)

- ZWO ASI178mm-cool

- ZWO ST4USB

The funny thing is although I already installed and have the required DLL files in the correct place, ASCOM platform cannot find it!

Did you install the driver with admin rights ?

Anyhow don't think you need ST4USB if you can control your mount through ascom.

Download Celestron Ascom driver here:

http://www.ascom-standards.org/Downloads/ScopeDrivers.htm

Then in PHD you can use ASI120mm as a guide camera and choose Ascom mount and in Ascom choose suitable Celestron mount.
