Presentation and first Jupiter - asi 120mc

Hi all, i`m new on this interesting forum.

I have an old Asi 120mc without ST4 port that i start to use for planetary imaging.

I would like to share my first image of Jupiter get on May 5 at 19.59 Utc time.

The setup is a 200mm f5 newton with 2x barlow on CG5GT.

It`s a 700 frames stacking result at 20 fps. The stacking was performed with Autostakkert, the photo editing with Photoshop.

I`d like to have some feedback about the two version: one has more contrast than the other.

I like the more contrasty version.

You could however check the colour balance, ie less yellow.

yes i have some troubles to set true colors in Sharpcap and the image seems quite yellow effectively..

I made a color correction in Photoshop (set Yellow -100%) and a correction with the Shadow/Highlights tool that allows to get more detail in the centre of the planet.

Is it better?

Much better now.

I use FireCapture and then you can adjust color balance if needed.

But anyway I usually tweak it afterwards - ie first stacking in Autostakkert and then wavelets and color balance in Registax.

Thanks for the tips.

I have produced a new image from another video recorded in the same evening.

It's a 900 frame stacking at 30 fps.

Now colors seems right...
