I purchased my ASI 071MC about 2 month ago from High Point Scientific. Currently I am running it on Nebulosity 4 (with recent bug fixes for ZWO cameras). I have been experiencing a couple of amp glow problems.
(1) When capture is terminated half way, in the image captured immediately after the terminated one, I have bright amp glow(?) from the left of the image. This disappears however in the subsequent frames. (I suspect this is more of a Nebulosity problem?)
(2) When I use my field laptop which has only USB2, I get the amp glow at the bottom of the image which has been reported by other uses. When I test the camera with my desktop computer with USB3, this amp glow disappears, and the download speed is REAALLY fast. A puzzling thing is that when I use USB2 with the desktop computer (for out of curiosity), the amp glow does not show up either. The download speed however is still as fast as the case using USB3, so I am suspecting it is the total download speed that causes the amp glow problem? My desktop has a very fast bus+graphics card for image/data processing.
What I am afraid of is that this may indicate even if I invest in a new laptop with USB3, the amp glow problem still may exist. Is anyone out there experiencing the amp glow problem, which is supposed to be caused by too slow download, even when using USB3?
