AWB & low Red Channel Gain

When using my ASI cameras in latest 3.0 SharpCap I can't get a AWB - I have to manually adjust color. Also I find I don't have enough gain for the Red channel when using my Idas LPS P2 or D1 filters. Without any filter I am able to manually balance the color but the Red gain is set fairly high.

I am able to get AWB to work with a flat frame light box or on the Moon but not for DSOs. I use to be able to get a balance. I spoke to Robin about this and he referred me back to here.

the setting of WB_R and WB_B range is around 2X of WB_G

do you use 071?

I noticed that there is no change with SC3.0 compare with SC2.9

usually the WB_B need to set very high instead of WB_R

AWB is still an issue and I'm not the only one experiencing it. Older versions of SC weren't an issue. It appears that there isn't enough bright areas for the AWB to work, this was not the case with older versions.

do you mean auto WB when do DSO imaging?

this is a little hard as the brightness is too low

I want to pick up on this topic again because too many of us are experiencing the same issue of not being able to use AWB with our color cameras.

Atik with their Horizon color camera (same sensor as ASI1600) is able to use AWB in there Infinity software, so if they can and in the past we had AWB working when using SC, then why not with the ZWO cameras.

So Sam please look into this again and let's get back AWB capability, I'm tired of manually adjusting color for almost every image and so are a long list of other ZWO camera users.
