New camera owner questions

Using FireCapture 32 bit with Windows Vista:

a. FireCapture shows my .FIT captures as monochrome. Why? SER files viewed in SER-Player are color.

b. I would like to build a small microcontroller to capture images out in the field. To do this I need to know the USB commands that the camera uses. Is there a list of commands somewhere?

c. I also need to know what the .FIT file structure looks like so I can perform image processing.

Is this listed somewhere?

d. Has anyone else done this so I don't waste my efforts?

this is raw format

you can use Sharpcap and capture your image in RGB24 and save in bmp or png if you have problem to understanding fit file

you can write your own program with our SDK

Thanks for trying Sam but none of the answers are what I am looking for.

1. I need a document that explains the encoding of a FIT file, like what each byte means.

2. I need a document that shows the USB commands that control the camera parameters such as exposure time, set full 12 bit resolution, number of frames to capture (1 in my case) and Start signal, etc.

I expect no one has tried to control one of these cameras with a microcontroller here.

It is a bad business decision not to have open formats for your hardware. Just look at PC computers: Apple has about 3% of the market and Microsoft has about 90%. Please consider making the USB commands available so that developers can create uses for your cameras that you never even imagined! Your sales will increase greatly and they will not be limited to the astronomy market.
