Does anyone have any experience with the ZWO 850 nm IR Pass filter and ASI224mc camera? I tried the filter in an old manual filter wheel. Without the filter I got an image of Jupiter that I expected. Rotating the filter in seems to block almost all light. Even pushing the gain 10 db, extending the exposure 10 x and refocusing yielded only a dim blur.
Jupiter is not bright enough for IR imaging
I have imaged Jupiter many times with IR filter (although only 742 nm version).
So you need bigger scope (8" minimum), and better to use mono camera.
And maybe you have IR block filter in camera - that will make IR pass filter useless.
