Hi everyone, let me begin by saying I'm pretty green when it comes to astroimaging but I have a keen understanding of the basics. That being said I was reviewing youtube last evening and I came across 3 videos using an ASI178 which showed realtime movement of the scope and actually showing the night sky as you would see.
I have 2 young children that both have an interest in what I am doing, but have very low attention spans and sitting around taking images and stacking to show them a single photo is hard to keep their attention. I am looking to expand their minds, but keep them interested.
After watching the video links below, you will understand what I'm saying - it shows dso's in realtime. My question is this, if I pickup an ASI 1600MC-Cool or an ASI 071MC-Cool, so I can take much better images when I want to on my time, but when I am out with the kids showing them things early in the evening, will I be able to do this with the 1600 or the 071 in realtime as the links below, or do I have to use a 178?
Really need help with this, as there are so many options of cameras to get, and I really want a camera that can do what I ask above, as well have a nice size sensor to do widefield when I want to. Not sure if this capability is basically native to the 178 and with a high frame rate etc... Please elaborate
I use a Skywatcher 80ED APO Black Diamond Refractor with Moonlite DC Focuser, as well I have a 10" Skywatcher Newt. with Moonlite DC Focuser, on an EQ6 Pro, with a Polemaster installed on it.
