OAG Spacing requirements

Hi Everybody,

I just ordered am asi1600MM (cooled), filter wheel, oag and asi120mm-s as a guide camera.

This is my first time using an OAG, so any tips anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a terrible time focusing the guide camera.

If I understand things correctly, the distance from the pick-off prism to the oag sensor should be the same as the distance from the pick-off prism to the imaging sensor. I've measured it out and know I'm close. Unfortunately, the zwo oag just lets you sort of "wiggle" the oag camera up and down.

I can't find focus. I was close once, but the stars were seriously elongated - to much to guide off of - I tried. Now, I can't even get back to that.

Does anybody have any suggestions about how to go about finding focus?

Even better, if anybody has the same setup, could you tell me the distances you are using, please?

Have you tried setting it up on a distant object during the day?

May be a little less frustrating.......
