Problem with sharpcap upgrade to 3.0 using ZWO camera

Recently I purchased a ZWO ADS1120 MC-S colour camera. With the first attempts of imaging Jupitor using sharpcap 2.9 software, the image was reasonable but for Saturn the next evening not so good due to poor viewing conditions some high level cloud and low in the horizon.

However on using the upgraded sharpcap 3.0 cannot get an image on the laptop screen using live view. I am short sighted and being able to correctly focus the scope on a laptop screen makes for improved images for me. Checked the camera during daylight hours with the wide angle lens with 3.0 and appears OK on the laptop using live stacking.

Have I lost previous camera settings with the upgrade and/or did I fluke the first attempts. Can someone suggest a solution or recommendation as to what I need to do. Would appreciate some help.

I use a 150mm Newtonian reflector or a maksutov cassegrain scope on the EQ5 mount.

If it works in daylight it should work at night.

You adjusted exposure/gain at night, right ?

Clouds cleared on the weekend and I set up the scope for some viewing and photographing. I was able to get Jupitor on the laptop screen, centred and which I thought, was focused. The videos frames were all overexposed on the first attempt. Tried reducing the gain and exposures on following videos frames some minor improvement but still over exposed ie Jupitor's moons were shown but details of Jupitor cloud bands just all white. Got plenty of frames from 300 to 400 frames on each video take.

Should I go to the histogram and play with the curve for a better result, varying just the exposure and gain.
