What causes my images to be pixelated?

I know there is something basic that I don't understand but i hope someone can help me out. I have an ASI224MC and I can see pixels in my images or on my computer's live screen. What causes this?

Is the preview in color? If not - the image is not "debayered" - turn/displayed as color (this is a color camera so the image look ok in color).

Using the ASI120mC color camera, my images are always monochrome and sometimes have black squares all over them. This varies if using the FireCapture program or the SharpCap 2.9 program to capture a single image (snapshot). Also, I captured these images as .FITS files. Converting them to TIFF files in image processing program ImageJ, and displaying them they sometimes are OK and sometimes have the black squares all over. This is very confusing.

Also, my pictures are never in color. Is my camera defective? What is debayering supposed to do? How does that work and why don't these pictures just show up in color?

you can use sharpcap and choose RGB24 color space

then it will record in color format

about debayer, many software can do it
