Hi All,

The ASI174m camera is connected to a an F4 Borg scope and I was wondering if some type of screw in filter would benefit the system in a mono imaging setup. Perhaps a filter that cuts off IR and UV or both? If it is a good idea, any recommendations for a filter part number(2) that will attach to the camera 2-inch nose piece that came with the camera?

do you mean 2" IR-CUT filter?

here is it

and here is the 1.25" filter

Sam,

Your reply suggests that the ASI174 mono performance could be improved with a IR-Cut filter but not a UV cut filter. Correct?

Also, the descriptions in the links you provided mention the filter is suitable for color cameras with no mention of mono cameras. This suggested to me that no filter was necessary for the mono and that is what prompted my question.

actually, all IR-CUT filter cut UV too

and sensor is not sensitive in UV range

you know mono sensor usually choose LRGB color filters

L is the IR-CUT filter
