it's best to order from our local dealer

we will try to ask our dealer to provide such upgrade service

it's a little more expensive to send directly to us

Hello Sam,

I bought the Asi071 directly from ZWO - is it nevertheless in any case possible, to send back the camera about a local dealer (in my case "Teleskop Service") even if I did not buy the camera through the dealer?

Furthermore: Also Teleskop Service does not know - regarding to their homepage - something about an upgrade service; but up to now, I have not asked them directly...

that's a mistake

we checked with TS and they can do the upgrade service for anybody

no requirement to buy from them

we already sent out our first batch of 071 cameras to our dealer

more will come at end of this month

I also have the ASI071MC-Cool with the same issues. I've owned the camera since Nov 2017 and taken it out twice. Can you tell me if my camera qualifies for the swap. How I go about doing this and paying the difference.

Hi everyone,

Before opening the ccd to replace the tablets, can someone have a look at the attached image that I took last night (was not yet dark) with the ASI071pro, with patterns that come up when cooling down to -5 or -10 degrees? Is the "root cause" obvious, can it be addressed with the desiccant tablets? I activated the anti dew heater, but that did not help.

not sure why it's blue, but the pattern looks like typical condensation

Thanks for your reply. The reason why it is blue is because I took the image early in the evening.

When you say condensation: do you mean it is condensation in the chamber where the tablets are kept - so the tablets could help? I looked at the sensor chip, but could not see where the condensation is materializing, is it the glass protecting the sensor chip?

it's condensation on the chip - that's why it's visible.

I don't know how long you waited for the chip to cool down and the condensation to evaporate, but even with the new pro design, i find it still takes 10-20 minutes before the condensation disappears
