Auto-Guiding

Hi everyone!

I´m having some driver issues with my guiding setup:

- Main camera: ZWO 071

- Guide camera: ZWO 174 MC

- Guiding software: PHD2 (Dev. 6 version)

- Guider: Celestron Off Axis Guider

- Mount: Celestron CGEM

- Scope: Celestron EDGE 8 HD

I´ve never done autoguiding, this is a new setup for me. In theory, I am doing things right (camera and telescope specs have been configured in the brain option of PHD2). Both cameras are in perfect focus.

Once I open PHD2, as some may know, the program prompts me to choose a guide and mount driver. I´m attaching a single image with the whole bunch of options.

Which may be the right one for my setup?

I´ve tried many combinations, but PHD2 freezes everytime I start taking exposures. Firecapture is opened in another window, in which the 071 is operating perfectly. Both camera drivers are updated.

I am sure it is a driver problem, or maybe I am choosing the incorrect settings?

I don't use the same cameras as you but maybe my settings can help you. I have a Sirius EQ-G mount and I use the ST4 port of the camera connected to the mount.

First, I connect just the guide camera (ST4 cable to mount and USB cable to computer). Then, I open PHD, select camera and in the mount menu I choose "on-camera". I start the exposure (to test the camera), but not the guiding. The guiding camera is ok.

Now, I connect the imaging camera and open FireCapture. The camera starts, ok.

Then, I select my target, do the focus and start the calibration and guiding process of PHD.

You might have same problem I had with two ASI cameras:

Also you might need to adjust USB limit.
