My ASI 178MC-C doesn't seem to cool the way it should

Hello everyone,

I’ve had the ASI 178MC-C camera for over a year now and after finally getting the right power supply to power the cooling aspect of the camera it seems like I don’t get anywhere close to the right amount of cooling.

When I plug in the power supply I hear what sounds like a fan of some kind turn on but the reported temperature doesn’t drop more than a couple of degrees C even after it’s been on for an hour.

What could be going on with this? Anybody had a similar issue?

I was expecting the temp to drop from the ambient 75 deg F to at least somewhere in the 40s but it only went down 2.

What Camera Control Software are you using??

Have you Enabled Cooling in that Software?? And set a Temperature Set-Point??Other than powering the Fan, nothing happens until the Software tells it to do so (else you could FRY a TEC if it were simply Full-ON from the Start).
