Still figuring out the camera and general settings. I did get a run in the other night and the colors do not seem a bright as I would have thought.
What are user's thoughts on an IR filter with this camera?
I got one and tried it, it does reduce star bloating, and does not block Ha

Using an IR-Cut Filter as your Luminance Filter is a common usage that provides significant Star Bloat control - especially with Refractors (or Refractive Elements within the Imaging Train). Modern Sensors such as that in the ASI1600 are sensitive well into the IR Spectrum, and Optics Designers essentially assume that you will use an IR-Cut Filter for best performance.
