ASI071MC: recommended gain and offset in Nebulosity

First time doing deep sky photography with the ASI071 tonight. Using an ED80 refractor, 80 mm aperture, 600 mm focal length, f/7.5

I've heard that for unity gain with the ASI071, in Nebulosity the following settings must be used:

gain = 90

offset = 20

I've tried these, but in order to get the histogram to move to the right, I need to do exposures of 300 seconds or more. I am under a very light polluted sky. This exposure time seems excessive.

What would you recommend as starter values for gain and offset for the ASI071 in Nebulosity?

I have just started using my newly-purchased ASI071. Using the native driver in Nebulosity 4, I selected unity gain (90 as documented by ZWO) and an offset of 130.

This offset was just enough to lift the histogram away from pure black for my camera, which is to be avoided.

My assumption is that this will vary somewhat between ASI071 cameras.

The procedure for this is documented in pages 33-34 of the Nebulosity 4 manual (April 2015).

You can set the offset higher if you want
