Barlow lens recommendation?

Hello all,

I am looking for a good Barlow lens to be used in combination with my recently acquired ASI224MC.

Currently I favor the Baader Hyperion Barlow (http://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/hyperion-zoom-2.25x-barlow-lens.html), as this has a T2 thread that would match the one of the ASI224MC. So I could screw the Barlow lens directly to the camera, and use this as a complete compact unit.

Question: Is it a good idea to attach the Barlow directly to the ASI224MC?

Does anyone have experience with the Baader Hyperion Barlow in combination with ZWO cameras?

Any other recommendation for a good Barlow lens?

set the barlow with T2 threads directly to camera, might be make shorter extend distance of barlow lens. Which means you will get smaller magnify.

The best balow for planetary imaging is Tele Vue powermate series.

You don't mention which telescope you use....I have a Baader Hyperion Barlow and believe (due to field curvature effects) it was designed for refractors rather than reflectors or SCT etc.

I only do spectroscopy and solar - and can say for both the TV Powermates work 100%

Sorry, yes, I forgot.

For planets I mainly use either a 5" Maksutov (1500mm) or a 7" Refractor (1600mm).

I fear that the Powermates will blow my budget... :

From what i've read the Baader would probably work well with the refractor but could be a problem with the Mak.
