Is there any hope for a Mac native software on the horizon to do live capturing/real-time viewing with the ZWO cameras?

It is very frustrating for Mac users to have to try and use SharpCap on Windows to use these cameras for this purpose. Astro Live is not good enough and it is no longer being supported. I simple but very effective software like Starlight Live would be an ideal solution. I use it with my SX UltraStar camera and it is terrific.

Do you want to do deep sky imaging or planetary ?

For deep sky you can use Nebulosity and TheSkyX Pro with the camera add-on.

For planetary you can use oaCapture ( http://www.openastroproject.org/ ), Planetary Imager ( requires recompiling so probably not yet ready for prime time unless you can follow the istruction to recompile it : http://blog.gulinux.net/en/planetary-imager ) and there is a beta version of AstroImager that works with the ASI camera for planetary : http://bb.cloudmakers.eu/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=80&start=40#p636

Thanks but these are not live stacking and viewing software applications. Even the ZWO website under support makes this distinction.

have you tried AstroLive USB : http://astrolive.io/astroliveusb.html

Even though it's no longer supported it should still works and is free for ZWO camera users.
