zoom finder scope

Gee, I wish someone would make a zoom finder scope. I usually make fun of any zoom optics, but after battling to find my objects in the finder scope on a long focus scope, and then trying to get well centered in the main scope, I think a zoom finder scope might be worth a bit of money. Do the rest of you guys think this is a good idea or just a silly notion?

ZWO makes most anything, this might be a good addition :-)

Personally I don't see the need for zoom guide scope.

If your guide scope and imaging scope are aligned your target should be in your imaging scope if it's on guide scope.

You do syncing?

Anyway now that I have started using plate solving my guide scope is for guiding as it should.

I was talking about a zoom FINDER scope, not a zoom guide scope. Purposes are some different :!:

I also think that there is no demand on the market for such a zoom finder scope.

What kind of finder are you using today?

From my experience the combination of a telrad and a decent finder (8x50 or 9x50) allows you to find everything, good alignment between finder and main scope is necessary of course.

And for centering the object for photography in your main scope I recommend plate solving.

Try using a zoom rifle scope, say a 6 -24 x 40 :)
