Image Transfer problem Asi 1600mmc

Hello,

I have a problem with the camera transfering the image after a finished exposure (APT). It stays in the "BUSY"-state and nothing happens. This happens after a few images, say i.e. the first 5 exposures there is no problem at all and then suddenly the problem occurs. Disconnect and reconnect the camera helps in most cases. I can reproduce this problem with "higher ccd compatibility" enabled and without.

Power saving settings of the operating system can't be the cause (I disabled all of that features i.e. USB).

OS is Win7 x64, latest Asi driver and latest APT version. I already contacted Ivo from Astro Photography Tool and he told me to get in contact with you. From the APT logfile it cannot be assumed what is going wrong.

Can anyone help me?

Turn USB limit to 40. And never process the last image when the camera is download the new image.

thank you for your hints, but the usb limit slider is always at the lowest setting (as I am using a second Asi camera for guiding). I did not do any processing or stress for the computer while transferring the image :-(

Could it help to connect the camera to USB 3.0? I would have to add a PCMCIA adapter. What other benefits could I expect doing that for deepsky work? Will there be less read noise?

USB3.0 helps to speed up of transfer time of one image

this helps to reduce amp-glow

did you use any extender or usb hub?

direct connection should be very stable

No, all equipment is connected directly to an usb port. I got a hint from an Asi distributor that the problem might be caused by sharing interrupts / usb ports share the same root hub on the computer. My old notebook only has three usb ports and all of them are in use (guider, imaging camera, mount). So I attached the camera to another machine and no problems so far / all images are transferred correctly.

Sorry for the late reply. Maybe that helps others having the same problems.
