I own two ZWO cooled cameras: the ASI071MC-Cool and the ASI178MM-Cool. I tend to keep them permanently installed on the OTAs. As opposed to taking them off, then reinstalling them back on every time I use them, I just attached them to the OTAs, along with field flatteners, ADCs, etc. I just store the OTA + accessories + camera as a single unit.
Would that reduce the lifetime of the dessicant tablets in these cameras? Seeing as how the cameras are this way permanently exposed to the atmosphere.
Or is the dessicant only exposed to the air inside the OTA? In that case it should not matter, since the cameras are sealed behind the accessories (field flattener, etc) and no air from outside penetrates to the sensor window.
