I purchased a 120mc in April of this year and made only very light use of it during the summer. After the August, I started using with the camera. After a few initial setup problems, like USB Traffic settings, the camera worked well with FireCapture, SharpCap 2 and PHD 2. I have started having a recurring problem in that at times the camera starts failing to capture images. My frame rates drop from about 13 fps to a fraction of one fps. At first it seems that this was happening when the camera had been on for an hour or two, but it seems not to be more random than that. Last night the problem was present from startup. Once the problem occurs it does not seem to stop unless the camera has been disconnected for a period of time (I don't know how long it takes, but it's more than 15 minutes.)
Has anyone had (and solved) a similar problem? Does anyone have a suggestion of what might be happening to cause this?
