Hello my name is ken and I am trying my hand at photography. I have purchased a 12mc-s in hopes of starting with planets as it seams to be a good starting point. I have three telescopes, a 10" dob, a 127 Mak and a 80mm doublet from Williams Optics. Today while the sun was up I installed a moon filter on the camera and installed it in my Mak. I was able see on the laptop a reasonably good picture of far away landscape. I did play around with gain and a few other controls. Starting out with the full moon we have, would I need to leave to moon filter in place? would I also be better off with the controls for the camera in auto? I have a feeling this will be the first of a lot of questions.
