ASI120MM-S and PHD2 Dark Library

Morning Folks,

I'm a rookie with most of this and trying to start to use the autoguiding by first building a dark library for my ASI120MM-S. Unfortunately after a few seconds the camera connection is lost and the program crashes.

The guys from the PHD forum run out of ideas (other than lowering the USB traffic - which I didn't have time to try yet) and thought that this forum might be able to help me. The error message on the log is ("ASI_ERROR_TIMEOUT") if that helps anyone. Also, when using the SharpCap I have no problems with connection or anything else so I assume that drivers, cables and and what not are OK.

Any ideas what to try next and assuming that the USB traffic is not the issue to fix this hitch?

Some thoughts:

- try lowering USB traffic

- you are using USB3 port ? try different USB3 port

- latest drivers

- different USB cable

USB traffic reduction did the trick. There is a good thread at Cloudy Nights about this issue in case someone else is having problems also.
