I just pulled the trigger and decided to purchase the ASI 1600MC camera and am trying to determine what size or brand is optimal for the 1600MC? I am thinking since it has the larger 4 format perhaps something like a 2" Antares .5 FR would be a good match for it and then I would screw directly onto the OTA tube like I do my Celestron 0.63 FR/FF currently.
Or it is better to get a 1.25" FR and attach it directly in front of the 1600MC itself?
So I could go:
OTA<--2" FR<--2" to 1.25" adapter<--ASI1600MC
OTA<--2" to 1.25" adapter<--1.25" FR<--ASI1600MC ( I *think* is the correct choice since there is supposed to be about 55mm between the FR and the CMOS detector)
So my guess is that I am should get the 1.25" 0.5 FR, and possibly some spacers to get the correct focus. But I am open to ideas and suggestions. This is primarily for EAA on a Celestron C14 OTA, so getting my tube down from F/11 to F/5.5 would be a good balance of photon collection vs. vignetting for EAA/NRTV.
Comments or Suggestions welcome,
