Hi!
I'm thinking about using something like an ASI120 camera with its 150deg all-sky lens for finding the Sun to remotely get a heliostat on target. It will all be up on a roof, so the mount can't just be manually pointed by hand. The camera will be mounted to the same platform as the mirror, so it will be pointing at the Sun all of the time that the mirror is. Is there some kind of filter that should be added to the front of the camera to minimize any long (or short) term exposure damage? Someone suggested a Baader D-ERF-like filter. Would that be good enough, or too much?
Thanks!
Bob
