I've been testing my new ASI290MC, my first color imager, and have a question about it's ability to render colors accurately. Using SharpCap, I've played with gain, exposure, gamma, color space, brightness, contrast, gamma and White Bal(R) and White Bal(B), but no matter what I do the colors are dull, green is usually missing, and red looks like brown. It's as if all sensitivity to Yellow is missing. My DSLR renders the image faithfully, so the question is - am I expecting too much from the imager? I don't want to try more nightscapes/planetary imaging until I'm sure the camera is working properly.
