Neptune and Triton with ASI224Mc

Hi,

A little recap of Neptune and Triton over 2 months, given the lack of details I focused on Triton and the color of Neptune.

The different colors of the satellites are, I think, dust that are more or less concentrated in the atmosphere.

My usual equipment, ie 300mm F4, powermate 5x, adc ASH and ASI224MC

My catch settings often vary from 75ms to 200ms, the gain between 500 and 550 (600 max).

There are 11 captures on an image of Neptune made November 17 in color (anti ir filter):

Tritions color fluctuations in your image sequence is remarkable. Did you check your color balance settings and could you please post one of these single frames with the red Trition together with Neptune and the exact recording time?

The images in the upper left corner seem to display atmosperic dispersion as opposed to the images in the upper right corner.

I think it's the dust in our atmosphere that changes the color shades on Triton, one thing I noticed is the more the transparency of the sky is good anymore Triton becomes gray.I would look in the archives to see the one that interests you.

This comes from the derotation with Winjupos for the lengthening of the satellite.

Hi Stephane,

my first impression of the images was, that this massive difference in color is unlikely (but not completely impossible) to originiate from atmospheric effects.

Therefore I thought it would make sense to check, if Neptune also shows this reddening. But that's just a suggestion and if you feel confident about your interpretation, that's fine, too.

I found why!

I used a color camera, the asi224mc and sometimes I did not filter the infrared, suddenly the satellite was tinted pink!

It's a mistake on my part, I did not see it!
