Zwo Asi 120MM Raspberry Pi 3

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to run the Zwo Asi 120MM on my Raspberry Pi 3, without success.

On the page https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software/ I've read, that theres no native driver needed.

I need the camera to read the video stream in python via openCV:

cap = cv2.VideoCeapture(0) #device

ret, frame = cap.read()

I've tried with a shorter USB cable and an active USB hub, serverall restarts, sudo apt-get update and looked for the device via lsusb without success.

Any advices?

found that on the internet and copied the usb device rules as given

lsusb gives:

Bus 001 Device 028: ID 03c3

so 03c3 is the device ID, as I read in the manuel.

now I see, that the camera is still recognized. I've installed oacpture, but get no preview (a new problem?)

Anyone else tested the camera with python and openCV?

Is it possible to access the camera device in python through INDI server?

I don't understand your needs.

If you want to use our 120MM on Raspberry Pi 3 with a known software， You can use our demo in our SDK: http://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software/ASI_linux_mac_SDK_V0.6.0921.tar

OaCapture should be useful, For no preview, I think you should update a firmware first:https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software/zwo_fwtool_usb2.tar.bz2

If you want to program by yourself using python, you can use our library in our SDK. It should be work.
