ASI071 MC-PRO not working with Nebulosity (MacOSX)

I recently received my ASI071 MC-PRO as an upgrade from my ASI071 MC. I get a “No camera found” message when I select ZWO ASI from the amera menu in Nebulosity 4.1.6 and 4.1.7. I’m on a 15” MacBook Pro late 2016 running 10.13.2. The ASI071 MC-PRO shows up properly on my system information as a correctly identified usb device. Unplugging, restarting, shutting down all have not helped. In the past, when I had the previous version (ASI071 MC) Nebulosity found it immediately. :

I'm having the same problem not connecting to Nebulosity 4.1.5 qnd 4.1.7 with the native ASI driver but I can connect with the ZWO 071 Pro to Nebulosity with the ASCOM driver. I'm running on Windows 10.

Thanks for the info Bob. It’s looking for info for MacOS since I don’t do Windows. The previous version of the 071 worked fine on my Mac with Nebulosity.

PS- In the mean time AstroImager 3.0 works with the 071 Pro for control/capture and you can process the images in Nebulosity after capture. You have to upgrade to the current version of AstroImager from the developers site as the current version on the MacOS App Store is not 3.0 as of 2 days ago.

Heads up: Nebulosity still has not been updated. The good news is Astroimager 3.0 works great on with the 071 MC-Pro and the latest version now seems to be on the Mac App Store.

Hi, I recently decided to migrate to MAC and never touch windows again after about three months of total nightmare with updates breaking things.

I have now got myself an iMAC and licensed nebulosity 4.1

If I select the simulator camera I can use Nebulosity.

If I select any a ZWO camera {There is a ASI 294MC PRO attached to a usb 3 port on the iMac } nebulosity crashes out.

If I select any other camera it tries and then messages camera not found.

Is this a similar issue to the one you are discussing or different?

Any suggestions welcome.

The problem I was having was that Nebulosity was not supporting the newer ZWO cameras yet (ASI071 MC-Pro in my case). So I switched to a cool program in the OSX App Store called AstroImager 3.0. which works really well for camera control/capture. They have more recent updates at the AstroImager website sometimes. You can still preprocess/process the output FITS files from AstroImager in Nebulosity. AstroImager is a slick program that is quite affordable.

THE GOOD NEWS: I just checked the Nebulosity web site and they have released version 4.1.8 which has an “Updated ZWO ASI library”. You can find it under Downloads>Pre-release (http://www.stark-labs.com/prerelease.html).

I haven’t confirmed if it works with my camera but I’ll leave a post after I check.
