ASI 1600 MM-COOL

Hi everyone!!

I recently took an ASI 1600 MM-COOL.

I am just wandering which kind of ADC the camera uses. In the manual it is declared 12 or 10 bits. But I also found 16 bits somewhere in the web. : Is this last info true?

Could I have a confirmation by you people that are much more expert than me?

Its a 12 bit ADC.

It's 12 bit. However the data sent to the PC is expanded to 16 bits. Basically by multiplying by 16. If you notice the whitest points in an image read 65520 which is 4095 times 16.

According to the manual it can also work as 10 bit. I have never done it so that I don't know.

yes, it's 12bit ADC and we keep the data in the high 12bit of 16bit data
