M42-M48 adapter with ASI 1600

Is this adapter supposed to be included in the ASI1600 pro box?

Because I don't have one and I have no way to use the 16.5mm spacer included. What I got in my box isn't what is pictured in the manual. The closest thing is the male to male knurled grip adapter that fits into the front of the EFW8. Both ends of that are the same 42mm.

That knurled grip male to male spacer isn't in the manual either. But it seems to work in connecting spacers to the EFW.
