Good evening,
I have had the ASI071MC-Cool for a while now but have only had the opportunity to use it on a couple of occasions up until now. I have just tested it with a target temperature of -40 over 2 hours but it will only achieve -23 despite an ambient temperature of 3 degrees. I'm powering it with a 15A bench supply.
Should it not be able to reach -30 without too much effort?
Many thanks in advance
Chris
I also noticed on my ASI071MC Pro that the camera doesn't seem to want to go past -17. I have tried -20 and -30 but it is hovering around -16.8. Ascom drivers are updated to latest.
Thats interesting. I brought it indoors and with an ambient temperature of 21 it cools to -12. At what ambient temperature were you only able to achieve -16?
Ps this was the case both through the native driver through SharpCap and also the ASCOM driver through SGP
Does the power reach 100% in software?
Thanks for the reply
Yes it goes to 100% and stays there

this is normal for the camera to achieve -12 when your ambient temperature is 21
the cooler is less effective with the cool of ambient temperature
The ASI071 is advertised as cooling to 35-40 below ambient. With an ambient temperature of +21 I guess -12 is close to that but with an ambient temperature of +3 degrees -23 is no where near 35-40 below ambient?
Hi Chris,
As a reference last night I had an ambient of 29 degrees C, cooler was set for -10, It got there with power at 98%,
Difference was 39 degrees.
Mine is asi071mc pro.
clive.
