ASI071MC Pro and Astrolive USB

I tried using the zwo specific version of Astrolive USB and was told by the software that no ZWO camera's were connected. Any idea when the new camera will be added to Astrolive USB?

you can download our newest SDK from here:

http://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/software/ASI_Windows_SDK_V1.13.1.9.zip

After download, unzip it, and copy the library from here:

ASI SDK/lib/ASICamera2.dll

Copy this file to your installation directory of AstroliveUSB, and cover the old file.

Then it should be opened.

Another problem, this software has been stopped updating for a long time, because our SDK interface has changed a bit before, so I'm not sure if it will still be used properly.

Will this solution also work with the ASI174mm mini? I tried and get the error "unable to take exposure" "there was a problem using the camera"

Hi，

After AstroLive stopped updating, we modified the interface in the DLL。 So when you use the "ZWO ASI cameras", it will report the error "there was a problem using the camera".

But you can choose "ASCOM camera driver". It should works fine. I just tested it.

I did as you suggested but the ASI071 is still not working. Don't see a place to select ascom driver.

Hi，

If you want to use ASCOM, you should install it. After that, then you can see the ASCOM selection in the AstroLive.

Install ASCOM steps is on our websit: support-> software -> ASCOM driver.

Please install ASCOM Platform first, then install our ASCOM driver.

After that, start the Astrolive, then you should see the ASCOM Selection.

It should works fine.

For the dll, I had said at the begining....this software has been stopped updating for a long time, because our SDK interface has changed a bit before, so I'm not sure if it will still be used properly. I followed this issue, and I am sure that it could not work now. Because we add a initial function, the software need to call this function before open it. But the AstroLive do not. That's why you can not open it.

But for ASCOM, we will change our SDK to meet the ASCOM interface, then the software will call the ASCOM interface. So it should works fine.

Ascom is installed and functioning on several other apps I use for AP work. I believe you may have a full package of AstroLiveUSB and I do not. I am using the free version that comes as part of my camera purchase.
