Last night I was trying to simulate ZWO test methods as suggested by the ZWO Founder to my earlier default settings question. While indoors collected a set of dark frames for the different settings. I should note the device has recently struggled to cool to -15C in a 68F household with the power draw getting as high as 100%. I decided to run the exercises at -10C.
I took the camera and laptop outside to the scope plugged plugged in the power and USB cables launched SharpCap and got an error message. At this point I had not noticed there was no audible USB alert so I rebooted. Only upon reboot and re-plugging the USB cable did I notice there was no USB connection.
Does this less than year old gadget contain some hidden fuse or has it just died?
