Hello,
I just received my ASI 1600 mmcool pro, EFW and OAG. I plan to use the camera on 2 scopes primarily--a TAK TOA 130 and a TAK FSQ 106 (at F3!). I am looking forward to the small pixels and large FOV. However--I have some questions
1) How is gain and offset related to exposure time?
2) Are hundreds of subs needed to achieve 16 bit dynamic range, and if so, what does that do to available storage space on a hard drive?
3) Is it simple to shoot deep space then slew to the Moon or planet and do solar system imaging, or does the configuration require modifications? It will require switching from Maxim DL to Fire capture--or one of the planetary software, but that's easy--just computer clicks. But if the camera requires modification and the scope needs to be rebalanced, its not so convenient.
Anyway--that's a start. I am sure I will have more!!
thanks,
Rodd
