ZWO ASI 071 Camera - Mono?

I was wondering whether you have plans to release a mono version of this camera?

Hi Paul，

We regret that there is no such plan at present. The plan is not expected in the future. Because sensor makers think mono's needs are too small to be worth developing. But if you have other similar sensors, like 071, but mono. you can recommend them to us.

So you are saying that "Sony" themselves have no plans to do a mono version, presumably because only amateur astronomers want mono sensors?

So, is this a general trend for Sony - that is, to concentrate on colour sensors and de-emphasise mono right across their sensor range?

Or is it the case only for this particular sensor (the 071)?
