cooler not cooling to -20

I have the asi1600mm pro. It's been working fine but I noticed today when I went to shoot some darks that my cooler % in Sequence Gen Pro was showing 100%. I'd never seen it over about 65% that I recall. After taking a short 30 second dark the temp dropped to -19.5 and then to -19.0. The cooler was still running at 100%. This isn't right. It was working nominal the other night imaging.

I can hear the cooling fan at the rear of the camera running. What could be wrong? It was very humid the last two times I've been out but I wouldn't think that would affect the cooling of the sensor.

What was the Ambient Temp while you were running this Imaging Session??

Even the 1600MM-Pro's 2-stage TEC is only capable of -40-45*C Relative cooling.

This means that if the Ambient Temp was anywhere near +20*C (68*F), then your Cooling was performing up to expectations.

And if it was Humid, like you said, then that will also reduce the effectiveness somewhat...

The humid conditions I was referring to was on May 13th. Today I was simply trying to create darks at a specific gain in my house. The temperature in the house was likely to be 72f .

So you're saying the TEC cooler only cools -20 below the ambient temperature rather than cooling to an actual temperature of -20? I live where there are many nights where the temps will be 75 - 80f. Kind of makes building a dark library useless unless I'm missing something. I thought this was the purpose of having a temperature controlled/cooled unit?

Did some additional reading on the cooler and believe I understand it now. Newbie, so misunderstood how it cooled.
