Hi.
I received today a new ASI290MM Mini and have tried to install the drivers and connect to the camera on two different Windows 7 64 Bit Pro systems but without any luck. I believe the camera is faulty and will need to return it to the dealer for an exchange or refund but before I do is there anything I can try?
The Windows native drivers v3.0.0.4 and the ASCOM drivers v1.0.3.18 are installed successfully.
On connecting the camera to a USB2 port and checking in Windows system manager the device first appears as a "WestBridge" device with a device id:
USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F3&REV_0100
USB\VID_04B4&PID_00F3
After a while Windows searches on-line for a suitable driver and the device moves down into the USB devices as a Cypress USB Bootloader using the driver files:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\CYUSB3.Sys
C:\Windows\System32\WDFCoInstaller001009.dll
WIndows is happy that the device is working but it never appears as an ASI camera.
I believe the problem is that the camera has no firmware loaded, or has lost it's firmware memory since it was originally flashed during production.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers with antivirus software disabled, uninstalling and re-installing as Administrator and uninstalling-re-installing in Windows Safe Mode but nothing changes, the camera still appears to be a Cypress USB Bootloader.
Is there anything you can suggest I try before returning this camera as defective to my UK supplier, 365 Astronomy.
Regards.
William.
