using the SER file output from ASICAP

Just took delivery of the ASI120MC and downloaded the ASICAP software, seems reasonably straight forward, can see the image and the files being saved.

Stupid question however, the video file is saved as a SER file, what program do I run to work on these video files?

Hi,alcolmoon.You could play SER files by SER Player.The download url is : https://sites.google.com/site/astropipp/ser-player

Also,You could change the foramt to RAW8.Then the data will be saved to be AVI files.

Thanks for that, do you change the SER file into RAW8 within ASICAP? Presumably you have to load the file into SharpCap/Firecapture or Registak to develop the image further?

Hello alcolmoon, I'm sorry that I didn't understand the meaning of "change the SER file into RAW8 within ASICAP".In ASICAP,when you select "RAW8" Format, it will save the data as AVI files and when you select "RAW16" Format, it will save the data as SER files. ASICAP is designed to this way. We may add new features in settings in future and then you could select the file format you want to save.
