Hi folks,
Two nights early April testing the ASIAIR Pro with my old AP 600E GTO w/ CP1.
Night #1 : only guiding with ASI120MM Mini using ST-4 protocole. No problem at all, RMS under 0.8'' on both axis, dithering OK.
Night #2 : try to connect & control AP mount using the CP1 linked to ASIAIR Pro with RS232 to USB cable. Telescope control using "Astro-Physics GTO CP2". Mount recognized, park position OK, Go-To OK but telescope on the "wrong" side of the mount, platesolving and centering object OK...but failing while doing the calibration in RA (1st attempt) and DEC (2nd attempt) as the star didn't move enough. After many attempts and restarts, no chance to do any autoguiding at all.
Conclusion : autoguiding through ST-4 works well but no communication between mount and ASIAIR for more advanced features. To take advantage of the ASIAIR Pro, mount should be connected through the RS232 port. Despite some minor "weakness" (telescope on the wrong side), most controls are OK but impossible to achieve guiding calibration!
Any thoughs or solutions how to fix that issue?
Clear skies.
