Green Images

I have a ASI294 MC Pro only two months old.

I use Nebulosity to capture and processing.

I had no issues for a few weeks then after debayer the images were green. On processing the image run most were normal but then for no reason “green” which is unable to be processed out.

I checked everything I could think of and all the forums. I posted the image on the ZWO Facebook page for suggestions.

I reinstalled Nebulosity just incase, swapped the USB cable as I have another ZWO camera, used a different laptop during capture. I put it down to a one off.

However tonight same issue fine for the first hour then in the middle of of a session green and every imagine after unfortunately you can’t tell until processing. It’s not the debayer setting as fine for the previous images. Not Nebulosity as I also use with my 224 and no issues.

I thought it might have been the nearly full moon rising and moon glow the first time but last night was a new moon.

I also checked and the cooler, fan and temperatures read out were a consistent -20. Just incase a cooling issue.

I just notice when going through the processed images before is goes green the file size is 42.5MB then when it goes green in the middle of the run (nothing touched no changes) the file size decrease to 360KB on the green images post processing on the original capture it’s also short of data from 17.3MB to 17MB.

Any suggestions welcome thank you.

this is because green is the most sensitive color of ASI294

you just need to do one white balance in post-processing

I cannot understand what do you mean cannot process it out

I have tried white balance, colour balance and changing the debayer matrix and still green is as if the only colour is green. Why does the file size drop and would it start in the middle of a run for no reason? Then i try the following night change nothing a normal images.

19.5 seconds later in the same run then continued green for the rest of the night. No cloud clear skies.

Previous un affected images processed no issues. Affected images unable to make any colour than green.

maybe you can post the raw image for us to check

and you can also try ASICap which wrote by us

so we can make sure there is no problem with the software

I have downloaded ASICAP what info do you need?

I don’t think it’s software as my 224 works perfect on Nebulosity and I even tried a older version on Nebulosity for processing.

On imaging tonight everything is pink. No change in set up or processing.

When the images were pink in Nebulosity. I opened ASIcap I am not familier with the program so left at default settings. Images were yellow.

Later in the evening issues resolved again on both ASICAP and Nebulosity normal blue.

The first time I saw green was 24th of July fine since until the last two nights.

As I have explained not colour balance at the beginning of this thread I wish it was then I could solve.

It is dropping data in the middle of a run (see above thread) so some files have normal colour post processing and with in 19.5 seconds on the next frame data is lost and I get green or pink. Pink is new.

Not colour balance or white balance as not all the frames and I can’t get anything but green out of the green images!

Not USB cable as I have a spare same issues.

Not Nebulosity as I used ASICAP as same colour issues.

The issue is intermittent but becoming more frequent.

Some frames are normal in the run then for no reason green or pink post processing.

Nothing changed mid run of exposures.

Not to do with post processing colour balance as not all images.

Not my computer either as two different Laptops were used.

It isn’t a colour balance issue. Something is wrong with the camera. Please can you repair or replace as it’s only two months old.

I would like this resolved a fast as possible and not to spend days getting nowhere or send it back and hear nothing for two months like the user in the previous thread, who still hasn't heard anything about his camera after two months. I have provided you with all the data to prove its the camera.
