I currently have an ASI1600mm-Pro camera I've been previously using with an Orion SSAG (for guiding). This has been run through a USB Hub and then to the laptop (via single USB cord) for image capture (SGP Pro for the imaging on the ASI1600, PHD2 for the guiding). I just recently bought an ASI120mm to use for a replacement for the SSAG (figured I'd use the 120mm for OAG even). However, I've hit a small snag.
I've installed all relevant drivers (ASI Drivers, ASCOM ASI Drivers, ASI Camera drivers, etc) and can get both cameras to work. In PHD2, I have to use the ASI Camera (1) to load the ASI120mm, but it loads and works fine. The ASI1600 is likewise working fine in SGP, ASICap or whatever else. This is where I hit the problem, however.
When the ASI1600 is running/downloading, the ASI120 "freezes". Zero communication, no data. As soon as the ASI1600 finishes, the 120 resumes. In general this may not be a huge deal, but with the ASI120 being my guide camera, if it "freezes" for too long during a download of an image, the guide star could potentially be lost and then everything fails. Is this merely a case of the USB connection being overwhelmed by the data from the 1600mm and unable to pass through any information from the 120mm? Is it potentially a driver issue, since both are apparently using the same driver? Any way to work around this?
