Cooling without cooler switched on

Hi,

during my last imaging session I noticed that the reported temperature of the camera was 2.5⁰ C without the cooler running. This was strange, as the outside temperature was some 12⁰ C.

So I just checked in the office. Indeed, as soon as I plug in the 12V power to the camera it does start cooling, although the cooler is reported as 'off' and 'cooling power zero', see also attached image:

The camera draws around 230mA. So probably a bad idea to keep it connected when not used....

Is this itended or an error?

Yes, I asked our engineer, it is because the circuit is the gate control of light, so it is impossible to completely disconnect, there will be a bit of leakage.

But it won't damaged the camera, it will be OK.

I was actually not too concerned about the camera, but rather wanted to save battery in the field
