If it complains about poor axes, that may indicate the camera isn't mounted orthogonal to the RA/Dec axes.
On mine (using an ASI174MM-mini guide camera and an Orion ST-80 guide-scope) I had to bump up the Max RA & Dec durations (in milliseconds) just slightly from the defaults and it started behaving well for me.
Which mount, scope, and guide camera are you using?
Is your camera installed so that it is "square" to the movement of the RA & Dec directions of movement?
