ALT Z Mount

I currently have an Celestron Evolution 8 ALT Z Mount and I was wondering if the new ASIAIR would work with my Sky Safari Application on my Ipad without an equatorial mount using my current ALT Z Mount?

I know that Sky Safari supports it but I am wondering if ASair supports an Alt-z mount? All the advertising shows it using an equatorial mount which I do not have.

I tried on my old NexStar 80GTL but can’t connect. The ASIAIR did found a mount on the USB port when I connect to it, but it always displays fail to connect. My mount and cable work fine with NexRemote.

you can try "SyncScan" instead of "Celestron ..."

it is supposed to be supported

ASIAIR don't care it is ALT Z mount or equatorial mount

it can plate solve and sync the mount with the same way

Ok I got everything to work when I got the ASIAIR last week including the connection to Sky Safari Plus. I ignored all the information about the guide scope since I don't have one or an equatorial mount.

For some reason I tried it today and I cannot get the control circle with the (MAX) label in the center in the right hand corner of the screen which can control my speed and directions of the Celestron Evolution Scope. In the Sky Safari settings under Scope type I changed the setings to SkyWatcher Synscan with a IP address of 10.0.0.1 using Port 4030. I can make the connection to Sky Safari and can control the scope using Sky Safari but I want to be able to slew the scope using the ASIAIR Apple app.

Any ideas why this used to work and I can no longer get it to work?

I am using a mini B usb cable into the telescope hand control from the ASAIR box.
