Raspian RP3 and ASI224MC

Hello,

I would like to use RP3 (non plus, uname -a "... 4.14.62-v7+ #1134 SMP Tue Aug 14 17 BST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux") with Raspian (no X interface), to adquire images and send those to other systems.

Is this possible? How to? Which steps?

I tried some of the things I read in this forum or manuals, But I cannot detect asi224 with lsusb. I changed the power supply because I got dmesg warnings ( usb 1-1-port2: over-current change), but still nothing, I also tried to use a powered usb bus, but nothing. On windows7 I can capture images.

1st, for the idea. Yes, it is possible.That's what we did on our ASIAir. You need to use RP3 to collect the data, and then send the data to another system's receiving port through the network or other interfaces.

2nd, for your camera. Looks like the camera should be fine, if the camera is broken, you should not use it on the Win7. So I think it should be the problem of the RP3. You should check the power supply of the RP3.

Well,

I already changed the power supply and I was using a 5A bench power supply. Nevertheless I get another one PS (5V,3A) I checked again, but nothing changed.

So I changed the whole RP3. Now, I don't get dmesg power related warnings and also I can see: "Bus 001 Device 004: ID 03c3" if I do lsusb, so I can start to check things.

It's clear now that the other RP3 has some kind of problem, I will try to flash the SD Card again, and if not, check the "soldering"...

Long story short, thank you, at least your anwser made me check new things and now I have less concerns. Problem Solved!
