INDI driver for ASI1600MM Pro can't connect

Hello, I am trying to set INDI up on my Raspberry Pi 3 B+, but have run in to an impasse. When I start the INDI server with indi_asi_ccd, then connect to it via KStars, the INDI manager detects the presence of the 1600MM Pro, but when I try to connect, it fails and I just get "Error connecting to the CCD (5)".

I have also tried the INDIGO server, and using the latest SDK from the ZWO website (1.13.0930) with the same result.

The camera works fine with the ascom driver on my windows laptop.

I have tried with the camera's USB plugging in to a powered USB hub, as well as plugging directly in to the Pi. I have tried with and without 12v power.

I also have an ASI120MC-S which works fine.

Can you tell me which system do you use? I tried to install, but kstars could not be installed.

We did not find the right system for Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Can you offer me your OS's url?

Hi，

I tested, it works fine.

I used the official system For 3B+ released by Raspberry Pi, It does not support the Kstars. So I just installed the indi lib on the Raspberry Pi, and run the kStars on a unbuntu PC. it works fine.

And I both tested the 120 and a EFW on the 1600's hub, all of them still work fine.

Hi Chad,

Here are the details of my setup:

RPi 3 B+ as well as RPi 3 running latest raspbian stretch with indilib installed and running (moving same SD card from one to the other, then recompiling)

KStars installed on a windows 10 PC as well as on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.14, same result with either.

Indilib, running in -vv log mode shows that it can see the ASI1600MM-Pro, but when I start KStars on either my windows or mac, and try to connect, the light goes red, and it goes to disconnected. I have tried with the camera plugged straight in to the RPis, and plugged in to a powered USB3.0 hub.

I think it should be the lack of the power on your Raspberry pi.

Please try the following 2 ways:

1, Please connect the external 12V power for 1600.

2, Change a new Power supply for Raspberry pi.

Beside, if you use a long cable, also could try a short one.

Hi Chad,

Apologies for the lengthy delay, I was away for the holiday. In each of my experiments, I had 12V power connected to the camera. I have tried powering the Raspberry Pi with the 1.5A power supply that was included in my kit, as well as a USB hub rated to 5A. I just tried with another 2A power supply I had with the same result.

I also tried having the camera's USB plugged straight in to the RPi's USB port as well as being plugged in to two different powered USB hubs, which are then plugged in to the RPi.

I think it should be the problem of rules～

Please check the rules file in the directory of /etc/udev/rules.d/ and /lib/udev/rules.d/, it should have a asi.rules file, if it does not exist, please use sudo install asi.rules /etc/udev/rules.d or sudo install asi.rules /lib/udev/rules.d to install it.

i have the same problem. i cant install the driver. I disabled the driver signing as described in the how to, but still cant install the driver properly. Is there any solution to this Problem? I cant test on another PC as this is my only windows computer.
