Usually, becasue we do not release the firmware, so the release note is not necessary.
In addition, based on our experience over the years, most of the time, our firmware does not add new features after the first release. All functions will be included at the beginning. We'll use our SDK and ASCOM driver to decide if they're used. For the bugs, also do not worry, usually, our firmware could support all of the normal use, they will be tested before they trigger the problem. So firmware update only could solved some abnormal problem, so if you meet, tell us, we check, fix it, and update.
By the way, like we said before, the firmware update is used to compatible with the different of electronic components. So update without our help may cause the problem.
For your 178, there is no need to check it. We did not update it for 2 years .
Here, like 178, we had 2 versions, 178 Cool With ST4 port, 178 Cool with USB2.0 port. For most of our customers, it is hard for them to find out the right version.
For your camera, it is hard for me to tell you the current version before I get your hardware information and version. I have several versions.
